About Us
Built in the Bush.
At Untamed Knives, we craft more than just tools – we forge stories, legacies, and the spirit of the outdoorsman.
Born from the heart of Africa’s rough beauty, Untamed Knives is the story of Vaughan and Ross Vosloo, two cousins who grew up immersed in the beauty and challenges of Africa. From the moment they could walk, the wilderness became their playground, their classroom, and their inspiration.

I’m 24 years old and have been filming and hunting professionally for the better part of nine years.
I’ve had the privilege of hunting with many incredible hunters across Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Cameroon, Mozambique, and many other amazing places.
I’ve lived in the bush and hunted my whole life, alongside my cousin Ross, who is a few years older than me.
Filming has always been a passion of mine, and bringing the beauty of our wild continent to people’s screens, wherever they may be, allows me to share the importance of ethical hunting and the utilization of wildlife. Ensuring our wildlife has a future through well-managed, ethical hunting is what we are all about here. Wildlife is my passion, and I’m proud to play a part in protecting it.

I’ve been a knife maker for the better part of eight years, and I’ve been doing it full-time for a good portion of that time as well.
What got me into knives was simple—you grow up in the bush, and you always have a knife on you. It’s one of those tools where, when you need a knife, no other tool will do. I’ve always loved knives and have always enjoyed making things with my hands, so becoming a knife maker was a natural extension of what I wanted to do in life.
Making knives has been a passion of mine and will continue to be for decades to come.
Vaughan approached me with the idea of working on something together. Being cousins, we know each other well, and both of us grew up in the bush in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Our skills have both grown from our love for Africa—his through filmmaking and mine through bladesmithing.
